Yanis Leri: "I did not hesitate to choose 'Khorezm'"

Recently, French footballer Yanis Leri, who joined the "Xorazm" football club, spoke with the club's press service about his career, first impressions in Uzbekistan, and personal goals. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Below are the main parts of this interview. – At what age did you start playing football?
– I started playing football at the age of 5. At that time, I played for the "Livry" team.
This place is near Paris, the area where I grew up. – What do you think about Uzbek football?
– I think the level of football in Uzbekistan is good, but it differs somewhat from Spanish or French football. I am trying to adapt to my team quickly.
My teammates are helping me in this regard, so my adaptation is going smoothly. Although I do not speak English well, I have no problems communicating with my teammates.
– Which players do you communicate with more closely? – I have good relations with everyone in the team.
Especially, I communicate more with Logan and Fabino. They speak Portuguese, and I know Spanish; since these languages are similar, we understand each other well.
– How many goals have you scored during your football career? – I can't recall the exact number, but I scored many goals during my time at "Saint-Étienne."
My most recent goal was scored while playing for the "Logrones" team. The goals I scored at "Saint-Étienne" are especially important to me.
– What was the most difficult thing about adapting to a new country? – The biggest difficulty was the language issue.
I do not know Uzbek, but I am gradually trying to learn it. – What do you think about the "Xorazm" fans?
The active support of the fans for the team amazed me. Their presence gives us great moral support.
– Were there other offers during the transfer window? – Yes, there was an offer from Qatar, but I chose "Xorazm."
I did not consider other options when making this decision. – Do you have faith in Islam?
– Yes, of course, I believe in Islam. – Which position do you prefer to play?
– Playing as a winger is the most comfortable position for me. – What are your future goals?
– My goal is to help the team more, score goals, and make effective passes. Additionally, I want to contribute to the team's success by making good use of opportunities during the game.
