The 2029 Winter Asian Games will be held in Almaty

The 2029 Winter Asian Games will officially be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Asian Olympic Council announced this on February 2. Initially, the competition was planned to be held in Saudi Arabia.
In fact, the Trojena project, specially built for winter sports, was considered as the main venue. However, taking into account the significant time required to build new cities and facilities, the competition was postponed indefinitely.
For this reason, choosing Almaty was the most optimal decision. The city already has experience in hosting winter sports competitions, its infrastructure is well developed, and the necessary conditions are in place.
It is worth recalling that Kazakhstan hosted the VII Winter Asian Games in 2011. At that time, the competitions were successfully organized in Astana, Almaty, and the surrounding areas.
Now, effectively organizing the preparation process for the 2029 Games is of great importance. In particular, logistics, security issues, sports arenas, and the system for serving fans need to be established at a high quality.
If these tasks are thoroughly accomplished, Almaty will once again strengthen its position as a leading city in winter sports in the Asian region.
