Infantino: Football must be free from political pressures
One of the most discussed topics in the football world is the suspension of Russian national teams and clubs from international competitions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This topic has come back on the agenda. FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized that this ban has not produced the expected result.

According to him, this decision has only intensified despair and hatred. Infantino stated that sport, especially football, should not become a field of punishment for political decisions.

Infantino paid special attention to the issue of youth. In his opinion, if young footballers from Russia had the opportunity to play in Europe, it would be beneficial not only for them but also for the overall development of football.

He emphasized that dialogue can be maintained and tensions eased through sport. Additionally, the FIFA leader expressed an important opinion regarding the organization's rules.

He said that the practice of suspending national teams for political reasons should be considered for a complete ban in the future. According to him, this is necessary to protect football from political pressures.

It should be recalled that Russian teams have not participated in FIFA and UEFA competitions since 2022 due to the conflict with Ukraine. Infantino announced that it is time to reconsider this restriction, which has lasted for nearly four years.

In conclusion, the FIFA head openly emphasized that sport must be free from politics. The main question remains whether these statements will turn into practical decisions or remain a long-lasting debate.

Fans want to see competition on the field, and external factors should not spoil the true spirit of football.
