Panenka: "This penalty kick is not disrespect, it is efficiency"

Legendary footballer Antonin Panenka is known in football history for the penalty style named after him. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He became famous for performing this shot in the final of the 1976 European Championship. In one of his recent interviews, Panenka emphasized that the "panenka" style shot is not about belittling or disrespecting the opponent.
The main reason for choosing this method was to find a reliable way to score a goal, he explained. According to Panenka, in that situation, he chose the most effective way to score a goal, not to mock the opponent.
"In the European Championship final, it is impossible to think about belittling the opponent. I love football very much and have never wanted to mock anyone.
This shot was the best way to score a goal," Panenka said in an interview with Cadena SER radio's El Larguero program. He also noted that he had previously observed other players attempting the "panenka" style and that in some cases this method was unsuccessful.
In particular, he commented on Braim Dias failing to score using this method in the Africa Cup final. He pointed out that in such cases, the player's mental preparation and execution skill are of great importance.
