Panenka: The "Panenka" style is not meant for humiliation

Legendary footballer Antonin Panenka shared his thoughts on the widely known "panenka" style in the football world. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He used this shot in the 1976 European Championship final and explained the true essence of this style. According to Panenka, this style is chosen not to humiliate or mock the opponent, but as the option with the highest chance of scoring a goal.
Panenka recalled his thoughts at that time during an interview on Cadena SER radio's El Larguero program. According to him, in important matches like the final, a player thinks about the result, not about laughing at the opponent.
Additionally, Panenka emphasized that he loves football very much and never intended to humiliate the opponent. Panenka had previously commented on Braim Dias's failure to score a goal in the "panenka" style during the Africa Cup of Nations final.
In his opinion, to successfully use such a style, a player must have skill, a clear plan, and sufficient confidence. Source: euro-football.ru
