The England and Costa Rica national teams have met twice before. In a friendly match held in 2018, the England team won 2-0 thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Danny Welbeck.
During the 2014 World Cup, a group stage match ended in a 0-0 draw. Additionally, the England national team will play its first World Cup match against Croatia on June 17.
