Uzbekistan U-17 will play in Group D at the Asian Cup

The draw results for the 2026 U-17 Asian Cup have been announced. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The ceremony was held in Kuala Lumpur, where the teams participating in the continental tournament were divided into groups. The Uzbekistan U-17 national team was placed in Group D.
In this group, our team will compete against the national teams of Australia, India, and North Korea. This group cannot be considered easy.
Australia is regarded as an opponent with physical fitness and a fast playing style. North Korea stands out for its disciplined and determined gameplay.
India, on the other hand, has been paying special attention to youth football in recent years and is developing significantly. Therefore, maximum preparation and focus are required in every match.
This group will be a real test for Uzbekistan as well as a great opportunity. The tournament itself is not only for the cup but also serves as the qualifying stage for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
To secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup to be held in Qatar, it is necessary to be among the top eight teams in the tournament. Thus, the goal is clear: not only to advance from the group but also to enter the strong eight and secure a World Cup ticket.
According to the draw results, the groups are formed as follows: Group A: Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Myanmar. Group B: Japan, Indonesia, China, Qatar.
Group C: South Korea, Yemen, Vietnam, UAE. Group D: Uzbekistan, Australia, India, North Korea.
Every match is as important as a final for the Uzbekistan national team. In this tournament, mistakes cannot be made as there will be no time to correct them later.
However, it should not be forgotten that playing in tough groups prepares the team for major competitions. If our youth players can overcome the pressure, qualifying for the World Cup is possible.
The most important things are confidence, discipline, and courage shown on the field.
