It is stated that this decision was made due to the club repeatedly violating various regulations and rules. Therefore, FIFA has decided to limit the club's activity for three transfer windows.

It should be noted that Athletic club aims to include only players of Basque nationality in its squad according to its transfer policy. Last summer, the club spent more than 20 million euros in the transfer market, acquiring Emeric Laporte from Al-Nasr and Jesus Areso from Osasuna.

Currently, Athletic is in 10th place in the Spanish La Liga standings with 28 points after 23 rounds. This situation is considered an average result for the club, but the transfer restrictions may pose difficulties for the team's future plans.
