Messi may not play in the 2026 World Cup

Sports22:08, 15-02-2026

There are reports that the 2026 World Cup may take place without Lionel Messi. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to The Touchline, Argentina's national team and Inter Miami striker Lionel Messi may not participate in the 2026 tournament. It is noted that Messi, who will turn 38, considers his physical condition as the main criterion in making this decision.

If he does not feel fully prepared, it is likely that he will choose not to take the field. Additionally, the report states that the MLS (Major League Soccer) level is not sufficiently high or competitive.

For this reason, Messi prefers to participate in the World Cup only in his best sporting form. This could be one of the factors directly influencing his decision.
