Kapello: Ronaldo is great but lacks innate genius

79-year-old Fabio Capello expressed his views on one of the important topics in the football world. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The experienced Italian coach shared his controversial opinions about Cristiano Ronaldo and other great footballers in an interview with The Touchline publication. Following this interview, heated discussions began on social media.
This was reported by euro-football.ru. According to Capello, Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly a great scorer.
However, he emphasized that he did not see the innate talent in Ronaldo that is characteristic of Messi, Maradona, or the Brazilian Ronaldo. "Cristiano Ronaldo is an amazing player and a strong scorer, but I have not seen genius at the level of Messi, Maradona, or Ronaldo in him," said Capello.
According to him, footballers are divided into two types: those who achieve high results through hard work and willpower, and those who possess innate talent. Capello places Ronaldo in the first category.
He achieved success thanks to his iron discipline, physical fitness, and constant effort. The 41-year-old Ronaldo currently continues his career in Saudi Arabia and keeps scoring many goals.
His collection includes five Ballon d'Or awards, as well as years spent at the world's strongest clubs. Capello emphasized that Ronaldo is a self-made footballer.
He pays attention to every detail and manages his body at the level of sports science. However, the coach associates the concept of "genius" with other footballers.
In his opinion, Maradona took the ball from one corner of the field, dribbling past opponents one by one; the Brazilian Ronaldo deceived defenders and finished the situation; Messi sees the field like a chessboard and can calculate several moves ahead.
Capello stressed that he respects Ronaldo and values his hard work. However, he does not include Ronaldo among those with innate talent.
In his view, this opinion is not disrespect but the conclusion of an experienced specialist. At the same time, Capello emphasized that he focuses not on numbers and statistics, but on players' ability to feel the game and their natural genius.
