Matvey Safonov encouraged Russian skiers

"PSG" football club goalkeeper Matvey Safonov addressed Russian cross-country skiers Darya Nepreayeva and Saveliy Korostelyov ahead of the 50-kilometer marathon race at the Olympic Games. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

He also openly expressed his high appreciation for Nepreayeva and Korostelyov's hard work and skill. According to the goalkeeper, the fact that the Russian national team is currently unable to participate in international competitions causes him difficulties.

According to Matvey Safonov, the main goal for athletes is to be satisfied with their own results. He advised Nepreayeva and Korostelyov not to lose confidence in themselves and to continue working on themselves in any situation.

For reference, Saveliy Korostelyov competed for an Olympic medal in the skiathlon event and finished fourth. Darya Nepreayeva has not yet been able to enter the top ten.
