Safonov called for support of Russian skiers

Russian "PSJ" goalkeeper Matvey Safonov addressed cross-country skiers Darya Neprevaeva and Saveliy Korostelyov ahead of the 50 km marathon races at the Olympic Games. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to euro-football.ru, Safonov wished the athletes good luck and said he would support them in the competitions.
He also did not hide his admiration for Darya and Saveliy's determination. According to the goalkeeper, he regrets that he is currently unable to represent Russia in international competitions.
Nevertheless, he considers it his duty to support the athletes. In Safonov's opinion, the most important thing is that Neprevaeva and Korostelyov are satisfied with their performances at the end of the competition.
He says that in this sport, this is even more important than winning. It is worth noting that Saveliy Korostelyov finished fourth in the skiathlon competition, achieving a result very close to a medal.
Darya Neprevaeva, however, has not yet managed to enter the top ten. For this reason, Safonov is paying special attention to encouraging them.
