According to Fabrizio Romano, the 53-year-old specialist has reached a verbal agreement with the French Football Federation. This was reported by euro-football.ru.

Zidane previously managed the “Real” club in Madrid and is expected to take over the France national team after the conclusion of the World Cup. This will mark his return to coaching after a five-year break.

It is known that Didier Deschamps has been managing the France national team since 2012. In the 2026 World Cup, France will compete in the group stage against Senegal and Norway.

The third opponent will be determined based on the results of the qualification playoffs. The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
