According to David Heykoop, a member of the executive board of the Curaçao Football Federation, the team's schedule is fully booked in March, but a home game is planned in Curaçao on June 6. Therefore, they are considering hosting the Russian national team as the home side.
In the FIFA rankings, the Curaçao national team is currently placed 81st. Additionally, Curaçao will participate for the first time in the 2026 World Cup.
In the group stage, they will face Germany, Ecuador, and Ivory Coast.
