UEFA has rejected the appeal of Benfica defender Gianluca Prestiani to participate in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This was reported by euro-football.ru. Earlier, the player was suspended from the match due to accusations of racial discrimination against Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior.

According to UEFA's press service, the organization's appeals body reviewed Benfica's complaint on this matter and decided to reject it. Therefore, Prestiani will not be able to take the field in the return match against Real Madrid in Madrid.

The match is scheduled to start today, February 25, at 01:00 Tashkent time. It is worth recalling that in the first match between the teams, Benfica lost 0-1 to Real Madrid at home.

Therefore, the return match is of great importance for Benfica.
