Uzbekistani boxers participate in important fights at the "Strandja" tournament

Today is expected to be an important day for the representatives of Uzbekistan at the traditional 77th "Strandja" international boxing tournament held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The competition runs from February 21 to March 2 and is organized based on daytime and evening sessions according to Tashkent time. In today's bouts, women will compete in the quarterfinals, while men will participate in the round of 16.
A total of 12 of our boxers are scheduled to enter the ring. According to the program, in the -48 kg weight category, Farzona Fozilova will fight against Turkish boxer Nurselen Yalgettekin.
Another representative in this category, Sabina Bobokulova, will face Kazakhstan's Anel Kudaibergen. In the -51 kg weight class, Feruza Kazakova will compete against German boxer Maxi Klotzer.
Feruza has reportedly performed confidently in recent fights, having defeated a US representative. Among the men, in the -70 kg category, Shavkatjon Boltayev will enter the ring against Brazilian Josiyel Lima da Silva.
In the -65 kg weight class, Abdulloh Madaminov will fight Irish boxer Dean Clancy. These bouts are important for our national team as victories will open the way to the next stage.
Among our girls, in the -57 kg category, Humorabonu Mamajonova will face Irish boxer Niam Fay, while Nigina Oktamova will compete against Ukrainian Karina Vovk. In the -60 kg category, Sitora Turdibekova will enter the ring against Mongolian Namuun Monkhor.
In the -65 kg weight class, Navbahor Hamidova will fight Turkish boxer Berfin Kabak. Additionally, in the -75 kg category, Aziza Zokirova will compete against Italian Melissa Gemini.
In the +80 kg category, Sobirakhon Shokhobiddinova will face Kazakhstan's Valeriya Akhenova, and Oltinoy Sotimboyeva will compete against Ukrainian Maria Lochinska. These fights are expected to be meaningful and serious tests.
The bouts will start at 17:00 and 21:00 Tashkent time. Today's fights will be exciting not only for our athletes but also for boxing fans.
