The Uzbekistan women's national team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup.

The Women's Asian Cup tournament taking place in Australia is becoming more intense every day. Zamin.uz reports this news.
The most joyful and historic news for Uzbek fans is that our national team has successfully completed its group stage participation and secured a spot in the quarterfinals. Now, our footballers face their biggest challenges, unique opportunities, and the main dream of qualifying for the 2027 World Cup.
Our team took to the field in Group B against South Korea, China, and Bangladesh. At the end of three matches, our representatives recorded one victory and two defeats, accumulating a total of three points.
The distribution of strength in the group was as follows: The Chinese team took first place with nine points, North Korea second with six points, and Uzbekistan third with three points. The Bangladesh team lost all matches and finished the group stage.
At first glance, taking third place might seem like just a result, but the tournament regulations turned this very position into a great chance. According to the regulations, teams that finished third in all groups with the best performance will advance to the knockout stage.
In this ranking, the Uzbekistan national team took second place after Vietnam, securing their passage to the quarterfinals. Although the Philippine team also accumulated three points, our footballers prevailed based on goal difference.
This situation once again proved how important every goal, every minute, and every episode is in the tournament. Who we will play against in the quarterfinals currently depends on the final results of other groups.
For now, there are two options: in the first scenario, we will take to the field against the South Korean team, which won Group A in Sydney; in the second scenario, we will compete against the winner of Group C. Regardless of which opponent it is, it is clear that there will be no easy games from now on.
These quarterfinal matches are so important because the top six teams in the tournament will receive direct qualification for the 2027 World Cup. Thus, a victory in the quarterfinals means we have practically secured our ticket to the World Cup.
If the Uzbekistan national team wins in the quarterfinals, the issue of qualifying for the World Cup will be resolved. Even if we lose, the opportunity will not be completely closed.
Teams that lose in the quarterfinals will participate in play-off matches to continue fighting for the remaining spots. There, those who lost in the quarterfinals will compete against each other and try to take advantage of the last opportunities.
The Uzbek girls went through a difficult path in the group stage, but they did the most important thing and advanced to the knockout round. Now, the real big stage is beginning; one victory will lead us to the World Cup, and another victory will create new history.
The only thing left for the fans is to hold on tightly to their faith and not spare their prayers. Source: One.uz
