LaLiga will support smart balls starting from the next season

La Liga, the most prestigious football competition in Spain, will transition to using modern technologies starting next season. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Javier Tebas, the head of the championship, special electronic chips will be installed inside the balls used in matches. This innovation holds significant importance for players and fans, bringing revolutionary changes to resolving the most controversial situations during games.
The main task of the new system is to precisely record the exact moment a player touches the ball down to the second. This data ensures the full automatic operation of the offside detection system.
Currently, a semi-automatic method is used in La Liga to determine offside lines, where referees manually draw the line using special software. From now on, the human factor will be significantly reduced, and decisions will be made much faster and without errors.
This contributes greatly to the fair continuation of the match. Experts emphasize that this technology plays a decisive role in reducing refereeing errors to nearly zero without disrupting the natural tempo of the game.
The chips installed in the balls will not only help with offside calls but also enable more accurate analysis of other important statistical indicators of the match. Fans of Spanish football hope to witness even more transparent and fair games starting next season.
