Maxachev Accused Topuria of Running Away from the White House Fight

There has recently been a sharp war of words between the current lightweight champion Ilya Topuria and the leading welterweight Islam Makhachev. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Earlier, Topuria accused the successful Russian fighter of avoiding a potential fight planned to be held at the White House. Makhachev did not remain silent about this and responded very firmly to his opponent's claims.
According to him, both sides know well who is hiding fear between the fighters. Makhachev emphasized that the truth cannot be hidden with many words and statements, and expressed confidence that Topuria will definitely get the opportunity he asked for one day.
At the same time, Islam Makhachev said that organizing the fight does not require billions of dollars. According to him, if a real fight is needed, it can be done for free as well.
Makhachev's words are not just a simple response but are being perceived as an open challenge. Such sharp statements in the UFC environment usually increase fans' attention before major clashes.
Although this confrontation has not yet been officially confirmed in the octagon, the escalating words are increasing interest around the topic. It should be reminded that on June 14 next year, the UFC Freedom Fights 250 tournament is planned to be held at the White House arena.
In the main fight of this event, Ilya Topuria will fight Justin Gaethje for the championship title. This tournament is being organized in honor of the 250th anniversary of US independence and Donald Trump's 80th birthday.
Currently, Topuria's main focus is on the official fight with Gaethje. Therefore, the super fight with Makhachev remains only at the level of fan discussions and verbal disputes between the fighters.
However, the situation is expected to become more interesting and major excitement is anticipated in the near future. Source: One.uz
