Gvardiola was unhappy after the defeat against Real Madrid

Famous Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola spoke to the press after a tough match against Spain's Real Madrid. Zamin.uz reported on this.
The match turned out to be more difficult than expected for them and ended in a defeat by three goals. The coach openly and candidly shared his thoughts, providing detailed information about the starting lineup and game plan.
From his words, it is clear that while the content of the match and the performance of the players did not personally upset him, the final score had a significant impact on his morale. Guardiola also did not hide that the team's options were limited while preparing for the return leg.
When asked first about the players who started on the field, he emphasized that major changes would not be necessary this time. According to him, more rotation was implemented in the recent match against Newcastle, but this time players who have been active in recent matches regained trust.
Speaking about his game plan, Guardiola stated that the goal was to launch strong attacks through the wings and break down opponents in one-on-one situations. He specifically expressed satisfaction with Jeremy Doku's performance, highly praising the player's ability to enter from the wing and reach the goal line.
However, he noted that the team struggled somewhat on the right wing and attempted to continue the attack with the help of Antoine Semenyo and Nico O'Reilly. Throughout the match, City pushed forward in search of goals and tried to play an open game.
Nevertheless, Real Madrid scored three goals in the first half, making a decisive turn in the match. Guardiola emphasized that his team managed to reach the final stages of attacks but openly admitted they struggled to deliver the most important and decisive shot.
According to him, although Real Madrid did not create many chances after the first goal, they were effective every time they came forward. Changes in the opponent's defense were also noted by the coach, as they switched to a five-man defensive line and tightened up the center.
This tactical decision became a serious test for the team. Source: One.uz
