According to former football executive Keith Viness, if the world-famous Norwegian striker Erling Haaland ever leaves Manchester City, he will primarily consider the opportunity to move to Spain's Real Madrid team. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In an interview with Football Insider, the former chief executive of Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen clearly expressed this opinion. According to him, if such an opportunity arises in the transfer market, there will be only one real and genuine destination for the Norwegian star in Spain.
That is precisely the Real Madrid club. Keith Viness dismissed various speculations linking Erling Haaland to Barcelona, emphasizing that the Catalan club might struggle seriously to finance such an expensive transfer.
In his view, given the current financial situation, the idea of Erling Haaland joining Barcelona is still quite far-fetched and unrealistic. Therefore, if the striker moves somewhere, it will be to Real Madrid, their main rival.
The former executive also mentioned that Erling Haaland's name might simply be used as a useful tool within the political environment surrounding Barcelona. He emphasized that big names are often mentioned to excite fans and behind internal team disputes.
Despite the rumors, there is currently no clear sign that Manchester City is preparing to part ways with their top scorer. The Premier League champions still consider Erling Haaland a central figure in the squad, and his contract runs until mid-2034.
This long-term agreement gives the English club strong control over his future and, for now, leaves any talk of transfers mostly theoretical. Since joining Manchester City in 2022, Erling Haaland has set remarkable records and established himself as one of the most decisive forwards in world football.
He has scored 154 goals in 188 games for the club, proving how crucial he is for the team's domestic and European ambitions. Although rumors continue, the strongest signal is that City wants to keep their star striker and build the team around him in the coming years.
