Presidential Decision Involves Private Entrepreneurs in Sports Development

The Republic of Uzbekistan has taken new and serious steps towards developing the sports sector and strengthening its financial foundations. Zamin.uz reported on this.
The decree signed by our President on March 24, 2026, established a wide range of measures aimed at implementing modern financial mechanisms in the sports system and actively involving private entrepreneurs. These innovations will significantly increase investments in the sports sector, deepen cooperation between state and public organizations, and enhance overall efficiency.
The adopted document provides for the launch of a special fund within the structure of the Ministry of Sports. Through this fund, new and innovative sports projects will be financed and fully supported in practice.
Furthermore, starting from April 1 of next year, entrepreneurs who provide at least twenty percent of the annual expenses of sports federations and associations through sponsorship will be directly involved in the governing bodies of these organizations. Significant changes are also being implemented in the activities of professional football clubs.
If an entrepreneur or a group of entrepreneurs provides at least twenty percent of the club's annual expenses as sponsorship funds, they will have the right to take over the reliable management of the club. This ensures the financial stability of clubs and creates opportunities for their efficient management.
At the same time, from April 1, 2026, until 2029, players competing in the Super League and Pro League will receive tax relief on income tax and social security contribution rates. These privileges will help further engage the private sector, expand investment flows, and strengthen the competitiveness of football clubs.
The new financing and sponsorship system is an important step in developing the sports sector in line with global standards, opening up great opportunities for both fans and investors. Source: one.uz
