Otabek Shukurov spoke about the quality of the match against Gabon

Otabek Shukurov, a player of the Uzbekistan national football team, shared his thoughts after the match against the Gabon team within the FIFA series. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Although the team won with a three-goal difference, the player emphasized that the quality of the game should be seriously evaluated. According to him, the team is currently experiencing some difficulties in controlling the game at a high level.
However, the main goal was to win, and achieving this is considered a satisfactory result. The player admitted that the national team, having gathered after a long time, faced initial difficulties in playing properly against the opponent's physical strength.
Otabek Shukurov spoke about the playing style of African teams, noting that due to their physical fitness and unconventional moves, the game on the field became somewhat difficult. He emphasized that although the team members fully understand each player's role, some players lagged behind in practice due to injuries and the training experience in Iran.
Currently, the coaches are taking this situation into account and are trying to gradually improve the team's quality. During the match, head coach Fabio Cannavaro came out to the players in the first half and gave clear instructions.
He noted that the movements taught in training were not fully executed on the field. In particular, attention was paid to the mistakes of Oston Orunov and other players in pressing.
While the team could not fully implement the coaches' plan in the first half, the situation improved somewhat in the second half, and the game process was corrected. In future matches, the team aims to eliminate these shortcomings and further improve the quality of play.
From Shukurov's words, it is clear that he pays serious attention not only to winning but also to the correctness of every action and the improvement of the team's quality. These views are considered an important stage in the development path of Uzbek football.
