Ilia Topuria clarified the situation surrounding the fight with Islam Makhachev

Ilia Topuria, a prominent figure in the world of mixed martial arts, has cleared up all misunderstandings regarding a potential fight with Islam Makhachev. Zamin.uz reported on this.
According to him, the organization initially sent him an offer to fight Makhachev, and he accepted the challenge with pleasure. However, the situation changed unexpectedly.
Topuria noted that he received several calls from UFC representatives during his nighttime rest, informing him that the opponent had changed due to Makhachev's injury. As a result, he was offered to enter the octagon against Justin Gaethje.
According to One.uz, this process further strained the relationship between the fighters. In particular, Makhachev's accusations that Topuria was overly demanding regarding financial matters were sharply denied by the athlete.
Topuria called these claims baseless, stating that it is inappropriate for one fighter to talk about another opponent's earnings. He stated that he never acts based on someone else's wallet and that such words are contrary to the truth.
In Topuria's view, Islam Makhachev has avoided fights in the past using various excuses and is now attempting to evade competition through similar methods. He considers such an approach contrary to the rules of professional sports.
These statements have further intensified the rivalry in the UFC lightweight division, sparking heated debates among fans. Currently, all sports enthusiasts are waiting with great interest to see when and under what conditions a potential clash between these two champions will take place.
Such sharp conflicts in the world of sports have always been at the center of spectator attention.
