Yuriy Syomin highly praised the success of Abduqodir Husanov

Yuriy Syomin, one of the most renowned coaches in Russian football and a three-time champion with Moscow's Lokomotiv team, shared his thoughts on the achievements of talented Uzbek defender Abduqodir Husanov. Zamin.uz reported this.
In an interview with Sport-Express, the specialist did not hide his surprise as to why the young footballer had previously escaped the attention of Russian Premier League clubs. Syomin emphasized that Husanov is not just an ordinary player, but a true discovery with great potential.
In his opinion, the footballer grew step by step toward European football. First gaining experience in Uzbekistan, then in Belarus, followed by France, and eventually reaching the English Premier League.
Addressing his scouts with a question, the coach sharply criticized how such a talented young man was overlooked. Emphasizing the importance of being able to see football and player potential, Syomin recalled that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was missed in a similar manner at the time.
The specialist also specifically noted Husanov's versatility. He can act equally effectively in central defense and on the wing, which is a rare quality seldom found in modern football.
Pep Guardiola saw this diamond and brought him into his team. Despite Abduqodir being very young, one of the world's strongest coaches is showing confidence in him in the most important matches.
The young defender has managed to find his place despite the intense competition and high pressure present in a great team like Manchester City. It is not for nothing that he has been recognized as the player of the month twice.
If he had been invited to the Russian championship in time, he certainly would have proven himself there as well. However, the problem was that he was not noticed in time.
For reference, Abduqodir Husanov began his career at the Bunyodkor academy and then honed his skills professionally at Belarus's Energetik-BGU club. Having moved to France's Lens team in 2023, the Uzbek footballer joined Manchester City shortly after for a transfer fee of 40 million euros.
Currently, he is considered a first-team player for the Citizens and has already managed to win several individual awards as well as the English League Cup under Guardiola.
