In this way, he has reached a new peak on the list of players with the most appearances in the Champions League for a single club. With this result, the German goalkeeper surpassed even the renowned football figure Lionel Messi.

The Argentine star had appeared in the starting lineup 136 times in the Champions League for Barcelona. Currently, Neuer occupies second place in the overall ranking.

The top spot on the list belongs to former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who started 149 matches in this tournament for the Madrid club. For reference, Bayern defeated Real Madrid 6:4 on aggregate in the quarter-final stage and advanced to the semi-finals.
