Unique Jerseys of Famous Footballers Put Up for Auction in Amsterdam

A special warehouse of the MatchWornShirt company, located near Amsterdam, houses a collection of unique jerseys worn by the world's most famous football players. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Here, one can see shirts worn by Cristiano Ronaldo during his time at Real Madrid and Lionel Messi while playing for PSG. Currently, Atletico forward Julian Alvarez's jersey, still bearing mud and grass stains from a recent match, is being prepared for auction, according to Goal.com.
Company founder Thijmen Zonderwijk emphasizes that every jersey in this facility is a true piece of art with its own unique history. For instance, Ousmane Dembele's shirt from the match against Liverpool has been put up for auction with a starting price of two thousand pounds sterling.
During the 2022 World Cup, Frenkie de Jong's jersey was sold for eleven thousand euros, setting a record in the platform's history. The company plans to expand its operations further during the 2026 World Cup.
Thirteen official partner national teams, including England, Portugal, Germany, and the USA, will provide their jerseys. After the matches conclude, all shirts will be sent to a center in Dallas, where experts will meticulously verify their authenticity.
The most intriguing aspect of the process is that each jersey passes through a special DNA-removal device. This technology was introduced at the request of Real Madrid to protect players' personal data.
This method allows for the complete removal of biological traces from the fabric without damaging the jersey's match-worn condition, such as stains and marks. Consequently, fans acquire a jersey that preserves the spirit of the game, free from the player's sweat and biological samples.
