Islom Ahmedov shares his thoughts after the match against Bunyodkor

Following the conclusion of the match between Bunyodkor and Andijan, a traditional press conference was held, as reported by Zamin.uz. The head coach of the visiting team, Islom Ahmedov, was the first to participate, providing detailed insights into the game and answering questions from journalists.
The specialist began his speech by expressing gratitude to the loyal fans who support the team under any circumstances, the regional leadership, and all the staff working for the club's prosperity. The coach noted that serious preparations were made for this clash, and the opponent's playing style was thoroughly analyzed.
Islom Ahmedov acknowledged that Bunyodkor has a unique style and is led by an experienced and capable coach. Consequently, the team acted according to a specially developed plan, which ultimately proved to be fully justified.
A point of significant interest and surprise during the press conference was the simultaneous substitution of four players during halftime. The coach explained this bold decision as a tactical necessity.
According to him, constant pressure on the opponent placed a heavy burden on the attacking line. Since some players showed signs of fatigue before the end of the first half, fresh legs were introduced in the second half to maintain the tempo of the game.
Warm remarks were also made regarding the team's new member, Martin Boake. The coach specifically highlighted the striker's high physical capabilities, particularly his dominance in aerial duels.
It was noted that the team aims to utilize his strengths effectively, such as his ability to hold up the ball and distract defenders to create space for his teammates. Regarding the opponent's statistical indicators, Islom Ahmedov stated that he does not place excessive importance on numbers.
In his view, the key is studying the opponent's strengths and weaknesses in practice. Through this analysis, the team succeeded in limiting the opponent's advantages.
The potential of young players is also a focus for the team management. Specifically, the performance of Bekzod Sulaymonov and the prospects of Khamidullo Karimov, the top scorer of the youth squad, were discussed.
The coach mentioned plans to gradually integrate talented youngsters into the first team, noting that their high performance in the reserves is no coincidence. Speaking on the psychological significance of the victory, the specialist noted that this result has given the team a special sense of confidence.
To overcome the slump following previous failures, internal competition was intensified during training sessions. Today's victory restored self-belief and will serve as a boost for even better performances in future matches.
Additionally, youngsters like Azimov, Gulomov, and Komilov are training with the main squad, and they are expected to be given opportunities soon. Source: one.uz website.
