Hugo Ekitike posts unusual AI-generated video
Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike has posted an unusual video on his social media pages depicting his unexpected return to the pitch. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In the short clip, created using artificial intelligence technologies, the twenty-three-year-old footballer throws away his crutches, scores a goal against Manchester City, and celebrates the victory with complex acrobatic moves. According to Goal.com, the video has sparked significant interest and various debates among social media users and football fans.
Although the footage brought a smile to many, head coach Arne Slot took a more serious and realistic stance on the situation. The experienced specialist officially confirmed that the player's recovery process following major Achilles tendon surgery will be very long, and he will not be able to play in the coming months.
During his press conference, the coach mentioned that he had seen the video of Hugo abandoning his crutches and running, but emphasized that it is entirely far from the actual reality. According to Slot, the surgery was successful, but full recovery must be carried out step-by-step and with extreme caution.
Liverpool's management currently prioritizes the player's health over any results and has no intention of bringing him back prematurely, risking further aggravation of the injury. Under current plans, Ekitike will undergo a specially designed multi-month rehabilitation program to return to full match fitness by the 2026-2027 season.
Training under medical supervision is of vital importance for the footballer's future career.
