Pep Guardiola Complains About Tight Schedule and Fatigue

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola shared his thoughts on the squad's condition ahead of the crucial FA Cup semi-final clash against Southampton. According to Zamin.uz, the experienced specialist noted that following an extremely difficult and intense match against London's Arsenal, the players are exhausted both physically and mentally.
The congested fixture list, requiring them to play every three days, significantly limits the team's potential. This was reported by Goal.com.
The manager did not hide his serious concerns regarding the pitch conditions at Wembley Stadium in London. According to him, the thick grass creates additional difficulties for players already showing signs of fatigue, which could multiply the risk of serious injuries.
Guardiola emphasized that any injury at this decisive stage could mean a premature end to the season for a player. "The game against Arsenal demanded a lot of emotional energy, and we were forced to play again just three days later," the coach explained.
He also admitted to some dissatisfaction among substitute players due to limited rotation in the starting lineup over the last five or six matches, justifying this decision by the need to maintain defensive stability. Currently, the team's midfield anchor, Rodri, is sidelined due to injury.
Guardiola faces a difficult choice: whether to rely on the exhausted regular starters or field players with less match practice. The outcome of this match will be a key factor in determining Manchester City's pursuit of several prestigious trophies this season.
