Manchester City are planning to expand their squad at the Etihad Stadium

Major changes and unexpected twists are beginning in the European football transfer market. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The arrival of Italian specialist Enzo Maresca, expected to take charge of Manchester City, will play a key role in the club's summer transfer plans. According to influential outlet talkSPORT, the new coach's arrival will see the citizens implement a new strategy to strengthen the squad.

Currently, the club's management and coaching staff are working seriously to fill vacancies in the structure and increase competition. At the same time, Manchester's scouting department has set as its main goal addressing the two most critical issues that have arisen in the team.

These are the right-back position and central midfield, i.e., central defensive midfield roles. The club's management has embarked on strengthening these lines with new players and talented youngsters.

According to Maresca's plan, Manchester City has identified three skilled footballers as primary summer transfer targets. First and foremost, the coach wants to see Enzo Fernández, who currently plays for Chelsea, in his squad.

Maresca highly values the abilities of this central defensive midfielder, his former student. Additionally, Elliot Anderson, a player from Nottingham Forest, has also secured a place on the shortlist.

To strengthen the central line, another important target is Valentino Livramento, the active right-back from Newcastle, who is expected to increase competition on the right flank.

It is worth noting that Enzo Maresca is very familiar with Manchester City's system and club philosophy. During the historic 2022-2023 season, he worked as Josep Guardiola's assistant coach and contributed to the team's major victories.

His most recent position was at Chelsea in London, where he has been managing the Blues since the summer of 2024. Now, he is on the verge of returning to Manchester as head coach, bringing with him extensive experience and fresh ideas.

How these changes will affect the team's results in the upcoming season remains a focal point of attention for many.
