The current contract was terminated on the basis of mutual agreement between the renowned coach and the club management, known for his successful work at Portugal's Porto club. This decision was made due to the team's unsuccessful performance in the current season and significantly lagging behind the main rivals in the championship race.

Conceicao had started working to establish high-intensity football and strict tactical discipline in Al-Ittihod. However, the team could not maintain stability in its games during the most important and decisive matches of the season.
It is expected that the official statement regarding the coach's departure will be announced by the team in the near future. The team's low position in the tournament table is indicated as one of the main factors of failure.
Al-Ittihod finished the season in fifth place with 45 points and lagged far behind the champion-winning rival. In addition, the team gave a chance to Japan's Machida Zelvia club in the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League and was forced to leave the prestigious continental competition early.
This situation caused legitimate complaints from the club management and fans. The disagreements within the team and unexpected changes in the squad during Conceicao's activity also had a negative impact.
Particularly, the departure of team captain Karim Benzema to another club during the winter transfer period changed all the coach's tactical plans. According to statistical data, only 22 out of 42 matches under the specialist's management ended in victory.
