«Barcelona» is on the verge of finalizing the agreement for the transfer of Bernardo Silva

Spain's Barcelona club is on the verge of finalizing a long-awaited agreement for the transfer of Manchester City's leading player Bernardo Silva. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The skilled Portuguese midfielder has expressed a strong desire to move to the Catalan capital, even agreeing to a significant reduction in his salary. Ending his successful career in the English championship, the footballer chose the Barcelona option as the most important and priority direction among all the offers he received.

Goal.com is reporting this information. Club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco have long looked with great interest at Silva's style of play and technical skill.

Previously, during the period when Xavi managed the team, this transfer issue was also thoroughly considered, but at that time, the experienced footballer preferred to stay in the city of Manchester. Now, the situation has completely changed, and Silva has decided to continue the next stage of his career specifically on the Spanish pitches.

The team's new head coach, Hansi Flick, was initially somewhat skeptical about this transfer due to the player's age and strong competition within the squad. However, the German specialist realized that the frequent injuries in the team and Silva's rich experience are of great importance in improving the atmosphere in the dressing room.

Additionally, the Portuguese star's ability to operate effectively both in the center of the field and on the wings will help reduce the physical load on the young talent Lamine Yamal. Although Barcelona is currently experiencing certain financial difficulties, Bernardo Silva is taking all measures to ensure this agreement takes place.

He confirmed his readiness to give up his high income at Manchester City and adapt to the economic capabilities of his new club. Currently, negotiations between the club officials and the player's agent have entered the final stage.

Although Atletico Madrid also tried to add the player to its ranks, Silva himself aims to play only in the blue-and-garnet jersey. For the midfielder, who has won all possible trophies in England, this transfer is valued as the final and most important opportunity of his career.

The parties are expected to sign an official contract in the near future.
