«Arsenal» management plans to extend the contract with Mikel Arteta

In an interview with Goal, club legend Ray Parlour shared his thoughts on the future of the coach who has been leading the team for six years. After Arsène Wenger’s departure, Unai Emery failed to handle the pressure, while Arteta, who had gained experience alongside Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, returned to the club in December 2019.
Despite having no prior experience as an independent head coach, he quickly shaped the team’s play. As a result, in 2020, Arsenal won the FA Cup and the Community Shield.
Over the next five years, the squad was significantly renewed, and the team successfully returned to genuine title contention. The long-awaited success came in the 2025-2026 season, when Arsenal ended a drought of over twenty years to win the English league title for the first time.
Furthermore, the London club reached the Champions League final for the first time in its history, where it will face Paris Saint-Germain in the decisive match. If the team wins this prestigious trophy, speculation has arisen that Arteta, whose current contract runs until 2027, might move to another club to take on new challenges.
Ray Parlour dismissed such speculation and expressed confidence that the coach will remain at the club. According to him, Arteta took over the team in its darkest hours, and the management has shown him unwavering support until the end.
