Aleksandr Tarxanov assesses Uzbekistan national team's performance at the World Cup

Russian coach Alexander Tarhanov praised the Uzbekistan national team's participation in the 2026 World Cup, as reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the specialist, it is incorrect to harshly criticize the Uzbekistan national team, which is participating in the World Cup for the first time in its history, based on results, as simply qualifying for the World Cup is a major achievement for the country's football.
As Tarhanov stated, Uzbekistan has qualified for the World Cup for the first time, and participating in the tournament itself is a great achievement. The team has gained important experience and will be better prepared for the next World Cup.
It cannot be disputed, as this is a significant achievement. At the same time, the Russian coach did not highly rate Uzbekistan's chances of advancing to the playoff stage in this tournament.
According to Tarhanov, advancing to the next stage this time will be difficult, as they have conceded too many goals. Recall that under the leadership of Fabio Cannavaro, the Uzbekistan national team lost 1-3 to Colombia in the first two matches and 0-5 to Portugal.
The White Wolves will face DR Congo in their final group stage match. Although the team still theoretically retains a chance to advance to the playoffs, the large negative goal difference has significantly complicated the task.
