Ghana returns to public protection

Ghana national team forward Antoine Semenyo spoke at a press conference ahead of the match against Croatia in the final round of the 2026 World Cup group stage, Zamin.uz reports.
Semenyo emphasized the importance of defensive discipline and coordinated movement throughout the match, stating that the team must defend together for the full 90 minutes to achieve the desired result.
This is exactly what we need to do, the player said, adding that defensive responsibilities were strongly emphasized in his previous teams, and he has become accustomed to this style of play.
We defended well enough in the teams I played for before, so this is nothing new for me, he noted.
According to Semenyo, Ghanaian players understand the group situation well, but they must not forget that nothing has been decided yet.
They fully understand what is going on and are satisfied with the current situation, but we must not get ahead of ourselves, the forward warned.
For reference, England and Ghana both have four points ahead of the final round, Croatia has three points and is in third place, while Panama has yet to earn a point.
