DR Congo's Mbemba studied Uzbekistan's weak points and won

DR Congo national team defeated Uzbekistan national team 3:1 in the third round of the JCH-2026 group stage. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
After the match, African team captain Chancel Mbemba explained what plan they followed to secure the victory. According to him, the team struggled in the first half, but after the break, they changed the situation by exploiting Uzbekistan's previously studied weak points.
The first half was not easy for Congo. The 31-year-old defender admitted that in the early stages of the match, his team was not moving as expected.
"The game was really tough for us. We didn't move well enough in the first half," said Mbemba.
Despite this, the players did not lose heart and aimed to show their capabilities in the second half. DR Congo footballers increased the pace of play in the second half and intensified pressure on Uzbekistan's defense.
As Mbemba emphasized, the team had thoroughly analyzed the national team's games before the match. "We watched videos of Uzbekistan's matches, identified their weak points," the captain said.
The DR Congo coaching staff and players decided to focus exactly on these points after the break. As a result, the Africans gained the upper hand in the second half and won the match 3:1.
In short, the key factors behind the victory were as follows. First, analyzing the opponent's game in advance.
Second, maintaining composure after the first half.
Third, acting according to a clear plan in the second half.
And finally, effectively exploiting Uzbekistan's weak points. The words of the DR Congo captain once again demonstrated that at the World Cup level, every mistake and tactical shortcoming is immediately punished by the opponent.
For our national team, this match was a tough lesson, but this experience could serve as an important lesson for improving tactical preparation and defensive stability in the future. Source: One.uz
