Joel Kojo signs new contract with Navbahor

Joel Kojo, a forward for the Kyrgyzstan national football team, will continue playing in the Uzbekistan Super League. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The 27-year-old footballer has signed a new contract with Navbahor from Namangan. The Canadian-born striker previously played in the Uzbek championship and is well familiar with the local football environment.
Kojo has joined Navbahor’s squad. The club’s attacking line has been strengthened with the addition of Kyrgyzstan national team member Joel Kojo.
In his new team, Kojo is expected to contribute with his speed, strength in physical duels, and goal-scoring ability. Having previously played in Uzbekistan, Joel Kojo has represented several clubs during his career.
He played for Osh from 2017 to 2021, Dordoy from 2021 to 2023, Dinamo Samarqand from 2023 to 2024, Istiqlol from 2025 to 2026, and was on loan at Neftchi in 2025. Thus, Navbahor becomes his fifth club in Uzbekistan.
Returning after a serious injury. Kojo’s last official match was in October 2025 for Neftchi against Shurtan.
In that game, he sustained a serious injury and was sidelined for an extended period. Now, the forward has recovered and is ready to return to top-level football.
What will Kojo bring to Navbahor? His arrival could increase competition in the team’s attack.
His strengths include familiarity with the Super League environment, international experience, ability to play as a central striker, activity in physical duels, and quickness in counterattacks. However, after a long break, how quickly he regains peak form will be an important factor.
A new chapter begins. For Joel Kojo, his time at Navbahor will be a new page following his injury.
