Tottenham Reach Agreement on Sandro Tonali Transfer Fee

Tottenham are close to completing one of the most exciting deals of the summer transfer window, Zamin.uz reports.
The North Londoners have reached a final agreement with Newcastle for the transfer of midfielder Sandro Tonali, a deal expected to become the most expensive signing in the club's history.
According to Goal.com, the move came as a surprise to English football fans. Reports from The Athletic suggest the total value of the transfer could reach £100 million.
Under the terms of the agreement, Tottenham will pay an initial £92.5 million, with the remaining £7.5 million to be paid in bonuses based on the team's Champions League participation in future seasons and the player's performance.
This would make Sandro Tonali the most expensive player in Tottenham's history. The London club is actively continuing its efforts to rebuild and strengthen the squad.
Alongside Tonali, Tottenham are also preparing to spend a significant sum on Mateus Fernandes, though it is the Italian midfielder who is expected to become a key figure in the team's central midfield.
Despite already having talented players like Conor Gallagher, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Pape Matar Sarr, the arrival of the experienced Tonali will intensify competition in the midfield. At the same time, young talent Lucas Bergvall has expressed his desire to leave the club in search of new challenges.
This situation has forced the club's management to take a more serious approach to strengthening the central midfield. Tottenham have already pursued experienced defenders such as Andy Robertson, Marc Cucurella, and Yan Paul van Hecke during the current summer transfer window.
Sandro Tonali, a member of the Italy national team, joined Newcastle from Milan in 2023 for a fee of £60.5 million. However, his time in England began with an unexpected setback.
He was handed a ten-month ban for breaching betting rules, which also forced him to miss the 2024 European Championship. Despite this, upon his return, he quickly showed his high level of play.
During his time at Newcastle, Tonali made 110 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing the same number of assists. Last season, he contributed to the team's respectable Premier League campaign and their run to the Champions League play-offs.
Experts believe that adding a player of Tonali's quality will give Tottenham a real chance to compete for high positions in multiple influential tournaments at once.
