Based on information distributed by the Marca publication, it can be said that after one of the team's current leaders, Daniel Carvajal, leaves the club, the captain's armband is planned to be handed over to Federico Valverde. This decision was made by the team management and coaching staff with a long-term perspective in mind.

The team's head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, fully believes in the capabilities of the Uruguayan midfielder and has no doubts about his future. Even the player's recent results on the international stage could not change the coach's firm opinion on this matter.

The coach aims to include the player in the main plans and assign him more responsibility from the start of the summer training camps. A separate conversation between the coach and Valverde is planned before the preparation process for the new season begins.
