Real Madrid academy graduates sold for 100 million euros

Real Madrid club demonstrated a unique talent academy strategy while seeking to generate funds in the transfer market, as reported by Zamin.uz.
According to information released by the influential Marca publication, the royal club earned a net profit of 108 million euros by selling academy graduates who did not play a single official match in the first team during the 2025-2026 season. This financially astute achievement has drawn attention from numerous football specialists.
These academy-derived funds fully covered the club’s summer transfer window expenses. Real not only strengthened its squad with this money but also financed changes within the coaching staff.
Specifically, the transfers of players such as Marc Cucurella and Denzel Dumfries were financed exactly by the proceeds from selling young talents. Additionally, the compensation paid to appoint experienced specialist José Mourinho from Benfica as head coach was covered by this revenue.
The largest income during the transfer window came from Nico Paz’s move to Italy’s Como club, for which Madrid successfully received 60 million euros in compensation.
This figure ranks as the second-highest sale in the club’s history after Álvaro Morata, with the added significance that Real’s management retained the right to reacquire the player in the future.
Other departures also contributed favorably to the club’s finances. The transfer of Víctor Muñoz to Liverpool for 20 million euros meant that 50% of the fee belonged to Madrid due to a sell-on clause.
Meanwhile, Milan paid 15 million euros for Mario Gil, while Premier League side Bournemouth paid the same amount to sign Álvaro Rodríguez. Mario Martín’s transfer brought an additional 3.5 million euros to the club.
These financial successes are not yet complete. In Spain’s second division, Sergio Arribas, who has been showcasing his talent, is expected to leave Almería soon.
José Mourinho’s former club, Benfica, has shown serious interest in him. If this transfer materializes, Real Madrid’s treasury would increase by another 12 million euros in accordance with the original contract terms.
According to One.uz, such a prudent policy plays an important role in ensuring the club’s financial stability.
