Ruben Amorim warned of Manchester United’s mistakes at Milan

Portuguese specialist Ruben Amorim was introduced to the wider public as the new head coach of Italian club Milan and took part in his first press conference, Zamin.uz reports.
During the event, the coach openly spoke about his unsuccessful stint at Manchester United, taking responsibility for the mistakes made during his 14 months in charge. According to him, this difficult period in Albion served as a great experience and a unique lesson for his coaching career.
This was reported by Goal.com. Amorim joined Manchester United’s management in November 2024, but his time at Old Trafford did not deliver the expected results.
The coach, who was dismissed in January 2026, admitted that he failed to fully implement his tactical ideas into the team’s play. The specialist noted that analyzing his errors is complex, as it requires a detailed explanation of all internal and external factors at play.
According to statistics, under Ruben Amorim’s leadership, Manchester United recorded one of the worst results in the club’s Premier League history. During his tenure, the team played a total of 63 matches across all competitions, winning only 25 of them.
The remaining games included 15 draws and 23 losses, which exhausted the patience of the club’s leadership. In particular, the team’s performance in the domestic league was disappointing: 15 wins in 47 matches, averaging just 1.23 points per game.
This result placed Amorim among the coaches with the worst records in the club’s modern football history. He faced sharp criticism from experts and fans alike for his tactical approach and inability to integrate academy graduates into the first team.
Despite this, he expressed pride in his work in Manchester and regret at not being able to say a proper goodbye to the supporters. Now, as the head coach of Milan, Amorim emphasized that he is confident he has drawn the right conclusions from his mistakes.
In his words, every person learns from their experience, and he has gained a lot of understanding over time. Amorim said he will try to adjust some of his methods, but remain faithful to his core principles.
Italian football and the Serie A environment are expected to present a new and serious challenge for the specialist. After the pressure in Manchester, he hopes to demonstrate his true quality in Milan and apply his attacking football ideas in practice.
Fans believe that the arrival of the Portuguese coach will bring new victories to the team.
