South African footballer Jayden Adams died at the age of 25

Jeyden Adams, a talented midfielder and member of both the Mamelodi Sundowns club and the national team, passed away at the age of 25. This information was shared by the Soccer Laduma publication.
As of now, no official statement has been released regarding the cause of the athlete’s death. Some media outlets, citing preliminary reports, have suggested the possibility of suicide, but this information has not been confirmed by authorized bodies.
During his brief but meaningful career, Jeyden Adams earned the respect of fans. He joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2025 and, over time, appeared in 27 matches, scoring 4 goals.
Prior to that, he spent five years defending the honor of Stellenbosch. The talented midfielder won the African Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns in the 2025–2026 season, claiming a prestigious international trophy.
He also represented the South African national team, playing in 9 matches and scoring one goal. Adams contributed to his national team during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Although he started in all three group stage matches, he failed to score. He did not play in the team’s final match against Canada, which ended in a loss.
The untimely death of the young footballer came as a shock to South Africa’s sports community.
