Uzbekistan Sends Its Largest Tennis Delegation in History to the US Open

The 2026 US Open will be a significant milestone for Uzbek tennis history. This is reported by One.uz.
At this year’s major doubles tournament, Uzbekistan will be represented by three female tennis players — the largest delegation in the country’s history — marking a new stage in the sport’s development.
In the main draw, Kamilla Rakhimova (WTA No. 78) and Mariya Timofeyeva (WTA No. 84) will compete directly. Polina Kudermetova (WTA No. 111) will begin in the qualifying rounds and may advance to the main draw with successful performances.
The third participant also retains the chance to enter the list of strong contenders. The tournament will take place in New York from August 23 to September 13.
The total prize fund has reached $108 million, setting a historical record. Each player participating in the first round of the main draw will receive at least $140,000.
This amount will serve as important financial support and motivation for Uzbek athletes. Historically, only Denis Istomin and Oqgul Omonmurodova had represented Uzbekistan in singles at the US Open.
Now, with three women competing simultaneously in singles, it demonstrates the growing level of tennis in the country. Each player has the opportunity to showcase her strength on court and represent her nation.
The US Open 2026 marks a new milestone for Uzbek tennis. The athletes’ participation is important not only for prize money, but also for gaining experience, building connections, and paving the way for future achievements.
Each of their wins and every match they play will add a new line to Uzbekistan’s sports history. One.uz will cover this event with accurate and logical reporting.
