Uzbekistan's wrestlers won a historic gold medal at the World Championship

Uzbek athletes Shahzod Nurmatov and Sobir Safaroliyev won the gold medal in the lightweight pairs (LM2x) event at the World Championship held in Amsterdam. One.uz reports.

This victory remains the first gold medal won by Uzbekistan at a senior-level World Championship in the history of the country's academic rowing. According to information provided by the National Olympic Committee, our athletes took first place in the final, finishing ahead of representatives from Germany and the USA.

Historic Achievement The German pair won the silver medal, while the USA athletes earned bronze. Shahzod Nurmatov and Sobir Safaroliyev dedicated this historic achievement to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.
