Lionel Messi ends his career with the Argentina national team

It has been officially announced that Lionel Messi has concluded his 21-year career with the Argentina national team. One.uz reports on this.
From 2005 to 2026, he participated in 207 official matches as the undisputed leader. During this period, he scored 125 goals, provided 68 assists, and was directly involved in a total of 193 goals for the national team.
He received 9 yellow cards and 2 red cards in on-field matches. The four major titles he presented to his nation consisted of victories in the World Cup (2022), the Copa América (2021, 2024), and the Finalissima (2022).
Defeats were also seen in the finals of the 2014 and 2026 World Cups, as well as in the 2016 Copa América final, but he achieved his goal and remains the greatest captain in the nation's football history. After Messi retires from the national team, his leadership position will remain with the "albiceleste" team, as he is considered the greatest footballer of his era.
