Mourinho praised Roma's strong performance, saying they came to win

Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho expressed his views at a press conference ahead of the match against Italy's Roma team as part of the second round of the UEFA Champions League group stage. One.uz reports this.

He noted the strength and motivation of the Roma team, as well as the fact that they came here not to watch but for victory. Because Mourinho led the Roma club from 2021–2024 and earned the affection of the fans, this match is also significant for his personal history.

Commenting on the opponent's strength and passion, Mourinho said, "Roma is a strong team; they have great motivation since returning to the Champions League. They are not here to watch football, but to fight and play with everything they have."

He also commented on the difficulty of the schedule, saying, "From the beginning, we had to face Italy's two strongest teams. In the first game, despite missing three of our key players, we secured 3 points.

Now, a serious test against 'Roma' awaits us." The value of the points was also highlighted as important to him: "We need to show a very high-quality game to accumulate points.

This is a very important opponent for us." Setting high demands for the team, Mourinho noted that there is no decisive moment yet in the Champions League that determines the fate of the next stage or saying goodbye to the competition.

However, he emphasized that they need to put pressure on themselves and increase the demands: "But we are putting pressure on ourselves and raising the bar. Our only goal is to achieve victory in this clash."

These words reflected his role as the "Royal Club" coach and his determination to achieve a single goal. This match is personally and tactically significant for Mourinho, as he previously led the Roma club and now takes to the field as an opponent.

This situation creates an interesting personal and tactical contrast in the football world, and achieving a favorable result will help test Mourinho's tactical skills and team morale. Source: One.uz.
