Mariya Timofeyeva's personal achievements
Mariya Timofeyeva's sharp rise in the ranking was due to her successful performance in China.
In the updated world ranking, Mariya Timofeyeva jumped straight to 63rd place. This is her highest achievement in her sports career, surpassing her previous record of 68th place.
At a major tournament in Beijing, the tennis player successfully passed the qualifying rounds and advanced to the third round of the main draw. For this achievement, she earned 135 valuable ranking points, significantly improving her position in the world ranking.
Changes in the national ranking
Until now, the position of Uzbekistan's first racket among women belonged to a talented tennis player — Kamilla Rakhimova. In the updated list, Kamilla moved to 69th place in the world.
Mariya Timofeyeva took the 63rd place, pushing Rakhimova behind in the national indicator and being recognized as the country's first-numbered tennis player. Both athletes' participation in the national team's matches has been an important milestone for the nation's tennis school.
Change in sports citizenship: Timofeyeva and Rakhimova changed their sports citizenship at the end of 2025, choosing to represent Uzbekistan's honor. Mariya's transfer under the Uzbek flag was officially recorded in the WTA system on October 20, 2025, while Kamilla's joining our national team was announced on December 1, 2025.
At the same time, both have been worthily defending our country's honor in influential international tournaments, consistently achieving high results among the world elite. Source: One.uz
