Uzbekistan has scheduled a meeting with Russia in November

Negotiations regarding a possible friendly match for the Uzbekistan national team in November 2026 against either Russia or Saudi Arabia have reached the final stage. One.uz reports on this.
Uzbekistan Football Association Vice-President Odil Ahmedov confirmed that cooperation is ongoing on this matter. The match is planned to take place during FIFA days, so both sides are working to resolve the issues.
Status of negotiations and agreement with Russia According to Odil Ahmedov, talks with the Russian Football Union have progressed well, and the match is planned to be held in Tashkent in November. It was stated that an agreement is on the verge of being reached.
If the Russian side wishes to host the match on their home ground, the choice of venue is still under discussion. If there is no agreement on the Saudi Arabia option, the match against Russia is highly likely to be held in Tashkent.
Saudi Arabia option and security concerns Negotiations with Saudi Arabia are also ongoing. The initial plan was to hold the match in Riyadh, but the UFA proposed moving it to Tashkent from a security perspective.
The Saudi side has not yet agreed to this condition, so this option remains unconfirmed. Negotiations with both opponents have reached the final stage.
Final decision with Fabio Cannavaro All issues will be discussed jointly with the national team’s head coach, Fabio Cannavaro, to reach a final agreement. This process includes tactical preparation, squad selection, and organization.
Ahmedov expressed hope that this prestigious match can be successfully organized in November. The team’s results in September-October (Iran 3:1, Syria 4:1, South Korea 0:2) indicate their fighting spirit and level.
This match will be an important step in improving the playing style under the new coaching staff and accumulating ranking points. Source: One.uz.
