Real Madrid turned the match around against Roma in the final minutes, 3-4

In the second matchday of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, Rome’s AS Roma suffered a surprising 3-4 defeat at home against Madrid’s Real Madrid. One.uz reports.
The Romans were leading 3-1 until the 83rd minute but conceded three goals in the final seven minutes, ultimately losing 3-4. This result significantly worsened the team’s standing in the group stage, and coach Gian Piero Gasperini also made a heavy comment.
In a post-match interview with Amazon Prime, Gasperini assessed his team’s performance. According to him, the players performed excellently for most of the match, but the defense lost its shape in the final minutes.
He stated: “We were controlling the game very well, but we lost. In the end, we defended very weakly on corner kicks; our players seemed to be paralyzed.”
This statement indicates a loss of concentration by the team in the final minutes. The expert also suggested that Real Madrid was more tired.
In his view, if anyone was tired enough to change the game, it was Real Madrid. “Roma” had several chances to score more goals, but the opponent made their attacks maximally dangerous and turned the match around.
Gasperini referred to this situation by saying that “the final minutes always have decisive importance.” He added: “This will be a big lesson for us.
Even if you are leading by two goals, you cannot become complacent.” After the defeat, “Roma” found itself in a difficult position in the UCL standings.
After two rounds, the team has only earned 1 point, leaving them with almost no right to drop points in upcoming matches. To qualify directly for the playoffs or to enter the playoff round, they must not lose any points in the remaining matches.
This situation forces the team to fight at maximum intensity in the next rounds. Source: One.uz
